![]() It also represents a homogenizing of the internet. Anything complained about, even in the beta tests, was met with answers of "Eclipse is the evolution of DeviantArt and it will be great." With very little actual listening to the userbase. I also know that the response of the staff to criticism of Eclipse has been terrible. Eclipse really feels lacking in that area. If you're going to force an entire userbase to switch interfaces, there needs to be some thought into the user friendly aspects of transition AND long-term use. The other comment on here said they've been using it since it rolled out and they're still looking for things. I personally find it very hard to navigate. Heck, even moving the different widgets around on the profile pages is severely limited now, nevermind all the other fun customizations. It would have been nice if eclipse allowed some of that. Not being able to customize your profiles really sucks - DeviantArt as is is now is sort of a remnant of the old internet it's very personalized to each users tastes. The cover photo space at the top of the profiles, for example, takes up half your monitor. For me, I get nausea.Īesthetically, the big everything isn't great either. Everything is bigger, there's a lot of empty spaces, and it's just difficult to use for those who have visual problems. For one, I've seen people complain (and experienced personally) that it's hard on the eyes.
